Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for External Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs Manoa Kamikamica says MSMEs are facing issues with banks, and he is trying to solve this issue before setting up policies.

Kamikamica highlighted this when questioned by Fijivillage News on the government’s plan for MSMEs, and he says that this is an exceptional group and is very resilient and innovative.

He further says what they need to do as a government is to ensure that before they set policies, they need to understand their issues and work with them.

The Minister adds at this stage, he is consulting widely, and then they will sit down again with them to decide how they plot the way forward and hopefully, it will be in the next few weeks.

Kamikamica says he has met with a few MSMEs recipients, and they have raised some issues involving the banks, and if he can knock off the bank issue quickly, it will be a good positive start for them.
