Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises and Co-operatives are critical to our development and form crucial contributions to national economies, as they help to sustain the livelihoods of women and young people.

This was highlighted by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Co-operatives, SMEs and Communications Manoa Kamikamica while officiating at the combined market day for MSME and Co-operatives in Ba.

Kamikamica encourages business communities to include MSMEs and Co-operatives in their supply chain and business models to assist in mitigating risks of disruptions to supply chains.

He says he sees so many ideas and opportunities waiting to be unlocked.

The Minister says as the people's coalition government they have listened and developed forward-looking interventions in the national budget that was announced earlier this week and aims to make smart and innovative investments into MSMEs and Co-operatives.

He further says they have been honest and transparent with their decision making and there is a prevailing sense of optimism as everyone has a valuable contribution to make towards nation-building and forging a new Fiji.

Kamikamica also says that the Ministry is responsible for growing the economy through facilitating investments and economic diversification, therefore they have established a dedicated Investment Facilitation Committee to expedite investments that are pending approvals with regulatory or Government agencies.
