Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro

Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro says the Ministry is exploring some initiatives, such as having drug test kits in schools to counter the ever-growing concern of drug abuse in schools.

Radrodro says drugs are always a concern for them, especially when students are using drugs or are being used to peddle illicit substances.

He says they cannot fight this issue alone and will need the support of stakeholders, government ministries, teachers and most importantly, parents and guardians.

He adds that for any measures they take, they will need the consent of their parents.

The Minister says searching of students' bags has been raised with them, but they will need to get parents and guidance consent on this.
