Defending Suva Zone 2 boys champions, Marist Brothers High School will be betting on two of their athletes to help them successfully defend their zone title this year, and their main aim is to topple current Coca Cola Games champion, Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Coke Games this year.

Defending Coke Games intermediate boys 100 metres champion, Lasarusa Senibale is expected to run in the senior boys 100 metres, 200 metres and 4x100 metres for Marist and will be the favourite for the sprint events.

Martin Iokoba who clocked 49.10 seconds in the senior boys 400 metres race during their inter-house competition is aiming to break Kameli Sauduadua’s record of 47.47 seconds in the Coca Cola Games in April.

School head of PEMAC Department, Pena Qalituraga says the athletes are gearing up to be the best when they reach the finals, and Iokobo and Senibale are strong medal contenders.

The Suva Zone 2 will be held tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium.
