Keleni Lutu of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School

Keleni Lutu of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School has won gold in the Intermediate Girls Triple Jump with a leap of 11.15 metres.

Lutu says she was not prepared for the Triple Jump, as her main focus has been the Long Jump event, but coming in first in this event has been a blessing.

She adds last year she attended Bucalevu Secondary School, where she took part in the 4x400m relay and finished second, as well as the Long Jump event where she claimed first place.

Lutu also highlighted that one of the key factors boosting her preparation and enhancing her fitness is a change in her diet.

Losana Cakau of Suva Grammar School settled for the silver medal with a jump of 11.11 metres, while Tahila Kunahiga, also from Grammar, took home the bronze with a jump of 10.78 metres.
