The Lomaloma Jetty upgrade is progressing well, with recent work focused on the removal and replacement of eroded steel beams.

The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) says these ongoing critical improvements will result in safer and more efficient vessel operations, while also providing better access for the community.

They say the upgrade to the Lomaloma Jetty in Vanuabalavu is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

FRA is advising community members that there may be limited access to the jetty during this time, and there will be periods when vessels are unable to dock.

FRA is also urging everyone to take extra care when using the facility, whether arriving on the island or waiting for their trip.

This project aims to enhance rural and maritime infrastructure and ensure that communities in Vanuabalavu remain connected, supported, and safe.
