As 50 women showcased their best work at the South Pacific Business Development Market Day at the Vodafone Arena today, one of the entrepreneurs, Milika Baikeirewa says her journey began with a deep desire to tackle the struggles faced by women in putting food on the table for their families.
She joined the Nausori Handicraft Entrepreneurs about 10 years ago.
Her strong message to other women aspiring to be part of the SPBD is clear and that is: "Nothing is impossible".
Moving forward, Milika is focused on the next big step and that is to transition into the online platform selling her traditional handicrafts.
Her story points out the resilience of women entrepreneurs in Fiji and the vital support from organizations like SPBD.
Bringing a sense of strong community spirit through the women owned businesses, the event began bright and early with breakfast at 6am.
Visitors explored a variety of stalls, from handmade jewellery, island crafts, fresh produce to delicious food and fashionable clothing sold during the market day.
