Liverpool beats Aston Villa 3-1 to make winning return to EPL

Liverpool made a winning return to English Premier League action as they restarted their bid to force their way into the top four with an entertaining 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Goals from Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Stefan Bajcetic ensured the Liverpool recorded a third successive league win for the first time this season and reduced the gap to the Champions League places to five points.

In other results Tottenham and Brentford finished the match at 2 all, Fulham beat Crystal Palace 3-0, Wolves beat Everton 2-1, Newcastle beat Leicester 3-0 while Brighton beat Southampton 3-1.
