Loata Lewageena with her family support system

Loata Lewageena of Ratu Sukuna Memorial School is etching her name in the record books of the Coca-Cola Games after breaking the Intermediate Girls Discus record twice.

Lewageena broke the record with her first throw of 44.87 metres and then broke that again with a throw of 46.02 metres.

The games record stood at 42.54 metres.

She thanked her dad who was injured and still came all the way from Lautoka to support her today.

Lewageena who hails from Emuri Village in Nadroga and shares maternal links to Ono-i-Lau, has been a sensation for RSMS and a good ambassador for her school winning medals every year.

Lewageena says victory was only made possible with the divine intervention of God and her family has been her biggest support system.

She says trying to balance school work and training has its own challenges and it has been tough preparing for the games.
