More than four thousand people of Levuka will benefit socially and economically following Levuka being listed as a World Heritage site.
Levuka Town Council CEO Suliana Sandys said this will attract more people who are interested in tracing the whereabouts of their ancestors or those interested in the history behind Levuka.
She said they are also awaiting governments decision to celebrate this milestone.
The old Capital was declared in the UNESCO listing as a World Heritage site following a World Heritage Committee meeting in Cambodia last week.
