A New Zealand rugby league legend has called on the All Blacks to try and sway Broncos superstar Reece Walsh to rugby union with a massive $5 million offer.
Former Kiwis, Maroons, Cowboys, and Sea Eagles coach Graham Lowe says that New Zealand Rugby can make a huge splash by signing Walsh, who he calls “the best young player” he’s ever seen.
While Walsh represents Queensland and Australia at rep level, he is eligible for the All Blacks as his birth mother is from New Zealand.
Lowe says the All Blacks should pay him $5 million a year and make a big statement about him, as it would be “chicken feed” if it was anywhere else in the world.
He says he believes Walsh is a marketer’s dream.
Walsh started his NRL career with the Warriors, debuting in 2021 and playing 38 games for the club before signing with the Broncos for 2023 onwards.
He signed a contract extension last year which will keep him at the club until the end of 2029.
