Flick Hygiene Lautoka are through to the final of the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants after convincingly defeating favourites Extra Supermarket Rewa 5-3 in the semi-final at HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.

Saula Waqa opened the goal-scoring spree for Lautoka through a solid header in the 20th minute.

Rewa’s Josaia Sela equalised a few minutes later, but Waqa managed to find the net again to put Lautoka in the lead.

A double by Sairusi Nalaubu had Lautoka leading 4-1 at half time.

Nalaubu completed his hat trick in the 82nd minute.

Rewa’s Tevita Waranaivalu pulled one back minutes later, while Epeli Valevou scored in the dying minutes of the game but it was too little too late for the Delta Tigers.

Lautoka President Shalendra Prasad says Rewa was a well structured side and they did not underestimated them.

Prasad says they are ready to give a good challenge to whichever team qualifies for the final.

Luatoka will take on the winner of the Smart Security/Calgary Nadi and Flick Hygiene Suva match.

Nadi takes on Suva at 4.30pm.

The final is at 3pm tomorrow.
