The Lautoka City Council has engaged in thorough cleanup operations within the Central Business District areas, focusing on blocked drainage systems.

The council says it is unfortunate that these blockages have occurred due to the irresponsible disposal of rubbish by some members of our communities.

They are also urging residents to uphold a sense of civic pride and refrain from littering or disposing of waste in drains and around us.

They say such actions not only contribute to environmental degradation but also disrupt essential city infrastructure, leading to inconvenience and potential hazards for all.

The council adds that collective commitment can assist in avoiding such situations.
