Lautoka Central wins Secondary School IDC boys U15 title for the first time after beating Labasa College 2-1

Lautoka Central College has won the Digicel Fiji Secondary School IDC Boys U15 final for the first time after beating Labasa College 2-1 in extra time.

The game was tied nil all at the end of the second half.

Lautoka Central coach and Assistant Principal Kamal Rao says they came into the final without any goal scored against the team so far.

He says the defence played really well and he is proud of the whole team.

Rao says they changed their strategy in the extra spell to penetrate Labasa College’s defence.

Meanwhile, Labasa Sangam has won the boys U17 final for the first time since 2012 after beating Vashisht Muni College 1-0.

Labasa College will take on Kamil Muslim College in the U19 final at midday.

In the girls open grade final, defending champion Xavier College will take on Ba Sanatan College.

Labasa Sangam beats Vashisht Muni 1-0 to win U17 Secondary School IDC final

Labasa Sangam has won the Digicel Fiji Secondary School IDC Boys U17 final for the first time since 2012 after beating Vashisht Muni College 1-0 this morning.

National U17 rep and Labasa Sangam goal scorer Salimone Ravonokula says he was confident of scoring a goal for his school.

He has dedicated the goal to the team and the school.

Former Labasa district and Labasa Sangam coach Ravneel Pratap says the win is not only for the school but the North as well.

He says before the final, he told the players to enjoy the game, play their hearts out and be proud of their performance despite the result.

Meanwhile, Labasa College and Lautoka Central College are tied nil all in the U15 final.

Labasa College will take on Kamil Muslim College in the U19 final at midday.

In the girls open grade final, defending champion Xavier College will take on Ba Sanatan College at 10.40am.

All matches are being played at Subrail Park.
