Lata becomes first student to receive the Shri Lekh Ram Memorial scholarship to study Hindi

A Year 13 student of Pandit Vishnu Deo Memorial College is the first recipient of the Shri Lekh Ram Memorial Full tuition scholarship to study Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Hindi at The University of Fiji.

Shayal Lata was presented the first cheque for the first semester on Tuesday by Director APS Education Kamlesh Arya.

The scholarship is targeted to promote the study of Hindi Language amongst the students of the Sabha’s six secondary colleges.

Lata will continue to receive the scholarship annually based on satisfactory progress.

The award is to commemorate the life of the Late Shri Lekh Ram who gave the 5 flats Moli Place property to the Arya Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji to fund the welfare and education of disadvantaged children.
