Nadali, Nausori resident Lalita Singh always looks forward to Diwali every year as it is a special time when she reunites with her loved ones and shares the bond of kindness and happiness.

Singh says she always reflects on the memories of her late husband and late eldest son every Diwali, however, she continues to create memories with her grandsons.

The 68-year-old says during Diwali, she always prepares sweets and meals for her family members and visitors and also takes time to teach her grandsons the significance of the event.

She recalls that in the past, people were truly happy and shared love while celebrating Diwali, marking the return of Lord Rama from exile.

She emphasises that people should forget their sorrows, forgive their enemies and reconcile with one another to start a new life.

Singh is encouraging people to celebrate the Festival of Lights with joy and to savour every moment of sweetness.
