The Lakeba Rugby Club has paid tribute to their brother and friend Lemeki Duidomo whose body was found on the driveway of a motel in Suva on Saturday morning.

They say Duidomo joined them in the pre-season leading up to the preparations for the Suva Rugby Club competition.

They say he was a quietly spoken young man who quickly won the affection of his team mates by his demeanor, smile and quick wit.

The Club says they will definitely miss Duidomo, for he arrived as a stranger but departed this world leaving behind his brothers from the Club.

Police are yet to question or charge anyone for his death.

According to Police, 28-year-old Duidomo had accompanied some friends to the motel when they were allegedly confronted by another group of men who were blocking the driveway.

Police say a fight broke out and Duidomo was allegedly struck with a metal object.

Duidomo then fell to the ground and became unconscious.

Police say he was taken to the CWM Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police yet to classify the death.
