A family of 6 have been left homeless after their four-bedroom house was destroyed in a fire this morning in Sarava Nakama, Labasa.

The house belonged to 67-year-old Vijendra Dayal.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Dayal says the family was sleeping when the fire broke out, and it was his son who alerted them about it.

He says they were only able to save their car and two bicycles.

The 67-year-old further says the house was fully furnished and the estimated cost would be more than $100,000.

Dayal says they don’t have a place to stay.

National Fire Authority confirms that they received a call at 4.53am to attend the scene while the investigation will begin tomorrow.

If you wish to assist the family you can contact Dayal on 9419837.
