Defending champions Sharma’s Investment USA Labasa will not let the absence of key defender Atonio Tuivuna for their first two games dampen their hopes of successfully retaining the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament.

Tuivuna will miss Labasa’s games against Suva and Ba through suspension as he was red carded in their last VPL match.

Labasa goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva says they are confident of retaining the title.

Mateisuva says they have been motivated by the fact that Labasa has never successfully defended a title and the players want to be the first group to do so.

Labasa takes on Suva at 2pm today.

In other matches, Nadi takes on Navua at 12pm, Ba meets Nasinu at 4pm while Rewa takes on Lautoka at 6.30pm at Churchill Park.

You can catch the live commentaries of the Labasa-Suva, Ba-Nasinu and Rewa-Lautoka matches on Radio Sargam.
