Labasa soccer coach Roneel Lal says he has been telling the players that Labasa has never successfully defended a title and it will be a challenge for them to step up and retain the Punjas Battle of the Giants trophy.

Labasa will rely on top players such as Taniela Waqa, Sitiveni Rakai, Siotame Kubu, Atonio Tuivuna, Iliesa Lino, Akuila Mateisuva and Ashneel Raju to achieve the feat.

Labasa won the BOG last year when Siotame Kubu scored the winning goal as they beat Lautoka 1-0 in the final.

Lal says as defending champions there will be a lot of expectations from the fans and the players will have to give it their best.

The BOG tournament kicks of this Friday at Churchill Park and you can catch the live commentaries of the Labasa-Suva match at 2pm, Ba-Nasinu clash at 4pm and Rewa-Lautoka game at 6.30pm on Radio Sargam.
