A taxi driver who was seen chasing a woman and throwing items at her in a viral video, has been charged by LTA for not adhering to the Public Service Vehicle Code of Conduct and failure to follow the shortest route for providing service to passengers.

LTA Manager Customer Services, Kavita Shah says an investigation was done where the statement of the complainant and the driver were recorded after which the decision was made.

Shah says the driver is also issued with a warning letter and will undergo a counselling session with the Regional Manager Central Eastern.

She adds that LTA will not hesitate to cancel or suspend the driver's license if the same behaviour is repeated as the permit belongs to LTA.

Suva Taxi Association President, Ratnash Narayan says such unethical behaviour of the drivers will not be accepted and they will need to face the consequences for their actions.

Narayan adds that they will continue to work with LTA.
