LA 7s: Loganimasi and Rasaku shine as Fiji beat Kenya 19-5 in second match

Newcomers Ponepati Loganimasi and Rokoua Rasaku scored a try each for the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side as they survived a physical encounter against Kenya in their second pool match of the HSBC Los Angeles 7s.

Fiji defeated Kenya 19-5.

Loganimasi scored Fiji’s first try in the first half of the match to give them a 7-5 lead at the break, while Rasaku’s try came in the second half through individual brilliance.

Fiji’s playmaker, Iowane Teba, also scored a try to move his try-scoring tally to five in two matches.

Fiji’s final pool match will be against Australia at 4.34pm this afternoon.

The cup quarter-finals will begin at 6.23am tomorrow, the cup semi-finals will start at 10.14am tomorrow, and the cup final will be at 1.28 pm tomorrow.
