Krishna extends contract with Odisha FC for another year

Digicel Fiji national football team captain Roy Krishna has extended his contract with Odisha FC for another year and will continue his journey with the Indian Super League club, solidifying his presence in Indian football for the 2024/25 season.

Krishna, who first made the move to the league in 2019 says he is very pleased to extend his stay at Odisha for another year.

He says he has had a great season and he cannot wait to see what they can achieve together in the coming season.

The forward says the energy and support he feels from his fans both on and off the field is unparalleled, and it truly fuels his passion for the game.

He further says playing under Coach Sergio Lobera has been an extraordinary experience and gis vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence inspires him every day.

Krishna say he is eager to continue learning and growing under his guidance, and is confident that together, they will achieve great things this season.

He says rejoining Odisha FC feels like he is exactly where he is meant to be and he is excited to build on the strong foundation they have laid and to create more unforgettable memories with his teammates and their amazing supporters.

Krishna had a highly successful season with Odisha FC, helping the team reach the finals of the Super Cup and the semi-finals of the Indian Super League.

Additionally, he played a crucial role in winning the group stage of the AFC Cup.

His exceptional performance saw him finishing as the joint top goal scorer for the current ISL season, further cementing his status as a prolific forward.

Krishna's has been the joint top goalscorer on two occasions and has won the golden ball in the 2020/21 season.

His consistent goal-scoring prowess has made him the highest goal contributor in ISL history.

This upcoming season will be Krishna’s sixth season in the Indian Super League.

Currently, Krishna is in training with the national team as they prepare for the Nations Cup, which will kick off in Suva later this month.
