Knights Choice is the winner of the 2024 Melbourne Cup.
Jockey Robbie Dolan was an absolute outsider, but the Irish jockey, who was previously best known for a decent stint as a contestant on The Voice, now has won the biggest race in Australia.
The win gives NZ trainer Sheila Laxon her second Melbourne Cup.
Dolan says he thought his best chance was to get him to stay the trip and hopefully he can run home and do the quick sectionals he can on a good track and he proved everybody wrong.
