Kishore Kumar to be admitted at St. Giles Hospital for evaluation

Former school teacher Kishore Kumar will be admitted at Saint Giles Hospital for psychiatric evaluation for the next three days or upon the discretion of the hospital's superintendent.

Acting Chief Magistrate Josaia Waqaivolavola has ordered that Kumar be taken to St. Giles today.

Kumar, who is in State remand, will be taken back into remand following his evaluation at the hospital.

Magistrate Seini Puamau had sent Kumar’s files to the Acting Chief Magistrate for orders for a psychiatrist’s evaluation.

Kumar is charged with allegedly making false porn video claims on his facebook page, Kishore Kumar Publications against Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua in 2020.

The matter has been adjourned to the 12th of April before the Acting Chief Magistrate.

The trial will continue on the 20th of May.
