Kishore Kumar remanded for absconding bail and breaching bail conditions

Former school teacher Kishore Kumar has been remanded in custody for allegedly absconding bail and breaching his bail conditions.

Kumar, who was arrested, appeared before Magistrate Sufia Hamza this morning.

In this matter, Kumar allegedly uttered abusive words towards the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Agni Deo Singh, in 2022.

Kumar is charged with unauthorised access to computer systems and causing harm by posting electronic communication in this case.

It is alleged that on December 14th, 2022, Kumar while in the Suva Magistrate’s Court, secured access to a Facebook account which did not belong to him and used it to post a video on a social media platform titled ‘Power In His Voice’.

He is accused of uttering vulgarities against Singh who was the Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary at the time.

Kumar also faces a charge of indecently annoying a person and criminal intimidation for allegedly making indecent claims against Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Lenora Qereqeretabua.

The case has been adjourned to the 19th of February.
