The Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that several roads are closed in the Central, Western and Northern divisions due to flooding.

The Kings and Queens Highways are open.

A heavy rain warning is in force for the eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu which include Suva, Tailevu, Naitasiri and Navua as well as Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti Group.

All this rain is being brought by a trough of low pressure that continues to slowly move over the Fiji group.

The Fiji Meteorological Service says this trough of low pressure is expected to affect the Fiji group until Saturday.

People can expect light showers to become heavy from tonight.

Please note that heavy rain may lead to flash flooding in low lying areas.

FRA contractors cleared the landslide which was blocking the road last night.
