Construction is progressing on the new Keiyasi Town, a major government initiative that marks a historic milestone for the people of Navosa and more than 6,000 residents in the interior of Viti Levu.

Turaga ni Vanua, Simione Nadurutalo, has welcomed the project, describing it as a historic milestone for the people of Navosa.

Nadurutalo says the new town will transform the lives of future generations, who will no longer face the difficulties their elders endured when travelling long distances for basic services.

He says that the future of Navosa’s generations is brighter because of this development.

The Turaga ni Vanua says they acknowledge the government’s commitment to bringing services closer to their people.

Led by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the development reflects the Coalition Government’s commitment to uplifting rural communities and ensuring that vital services are brought closer to people living in remote areas.

They add that once completed, the Keiyasi Town project is expected to ease long-standing transportation challenges, expand access to goods and services, and support long-term community growth and resilience.

The Keiyasi Town initiative stands as a strong testament to the government’s ongoing dedication to building inclusive, service-oriented communities and fostering sustainable development across the country.
