Fiji Bati star Kane Evans scored a try for the Paramatta Eels as they edged the Cronulla Sharks 14-12 in the NRL last night.

The Eels had to dig deep to score their first try from Dylan Brown as the Sharks defence stood like a brick wall.

Evans found a hole in the Sharks defence through a smart play from Brown just 5 minutes into the second half to extend their lead to 12-4.

The Eels led the Sharks 6-4 at the break.
