No response will be issued by FICAC.

That is the comment from FICAC when asked by fijivillage News on Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica's mobile phone being seized by FICAC.

The seizure took place as part of a search warrant yesterday afternoon.

We have asked FICAC when will they respond to our questions as a search warrant executed and a mobile phone seized from a Deputy Prime Minister is a matter of national interest.

It is understood that Kamikamica’s phone was taken in as part of the investigation regarding the Commission of Inquiry report into the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner.

Kamikamica had earlier stressed that the appointment of Malimali as FICAC Commissioner was solely the decision of the Judicial Services Commission and not Cabinet.

Kamikamica had confirmed no specific Cabinet meeting was held for the appointment of Malimali when he was Acting Prime Minister.
