Police Commissioner Sitiveni Qiliho says from today there will be an increased number of checkpoints throughout the day to minimize unnecessary movement of people as they have noted a continuous number of social gathering breaches and loiterers.
Qiliho also confirms that K9 officers have been deployed to checkpoints and will also be conducting snap checkpoints throughout the night.
He says people should be advised that officers will not hesitate to arrest those who disregard COVID-19 restrictions.
