fijivillage News visited her place this afternoon, where she said that Diwali is about spending the best time with your family members and those who might not be celebrating the festival.

Gopal hopes that this Diwali will be prosperous for everyone and may nothing bad happen to anyone during this time of the year.

The Gopal family had decorated their home with lights, rangoli, diya and candles which looked beautiful.

When asked how long it took them to decorate, she says they did it within two days.

She adds Diwali is about reflecting on Lord Rama’s teaching emphasising the importance of fulfilling one's duties and responsibilities, even in the face of adversity.

When questioned about her childhood memory with regards to Diwali, she says before they didn't have electricity so they used to wrap crepe paper around the stick to light the Diya.

She has wished everyone a blessed Diwali.

The Diwali puja will be aired on our sister station Radio Sargam at 6.30pm.
