Team Fiji Paralympic athlete Iosefo Rakesa

Team Fiji Paralympic athlete Iosefo Rakesa says it was really difficult to prepare for the Games with COVID-19 in the community however he still managed to take part in a few sessions before leaving for Japan.

Rakesa says he is grateful that he had access to Head Coach Fred Fatiaki.

Rakesa who was Team Fiji’s flag bearer in the opening ceremony last night has revealed that it was a scary moment to represent his country on the international stage.

He was accompanied by his teammate, Inosi Bulimairewa and coach Fred Fatiaki.

Rakesa will compete in the F41 category in the shot put and javelin at 12.30pm on Monday while Bulimairewa will compete in the javelin F63 division at 10pm next Saturday.
