People's Alliance

People's Alliance Party Vice President, Ratu Isoa Gavidi has stressed to members of the party that only through a united Fiji, the country can rise to greater heights.

While speaking during the party's AGM, Ratu Isoa says the responsibility is on us as no one will come and shed blood, sweat or tears to rebuild the nation.

Ratu Isoa says the party needs to adopt the theme of "Let Love Shine" in all the things they do so the people know that their best interests are at heart.

He says ethnic and religious differences may have divided us, but they have to show the people that the People's Alliance cares, and has their backs because we all belong to this country.

While addressing the members, Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka acknowledged the work of the party founders in setting up the People's Alliance Party and said that they should look at why the party was set up in the first place.

He says he was regarded as an enemy of democracy when he did the coup in 1987.

Rabuka says through the support of a few people, he decided to get back into politics to change how the leadership was back then.

He adds what transpired last Friday is a sign of democracy, and members of the public controlled themselves during the protest.

The Party Leader encourages people to come forth with their concerns and raise it with them as they are here for everyone.

The People's Alliance AGM was attended by members from the four divisions, members from Australia and New Zealand, and also the SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka.

A moment of silence was also accorded to the founders and members who have passed away.
