Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has told officers that it is time they remove the darkness of hatred from their life and begin to shine the light of love from within.

While speaking to them during Diwali celebrations Tudravu urged officers to reflect on the meaning of the Festival of Lights by ensuring good triumphed over evil during the execution of their duties.

He says evil will always try to find a way to derail their progress and divide them – and in the spirit of Diwali, they need to let the light and the goodness of their hearts determine the way they conduct themselves.

Tudravu told the officers to take away the unnecessary pettiness and ill-feelings they may have for someone else and be driven by the light that embodies the spirit of Diwali to do good and recognize the good in others.

He reminded them that they are a beacon of light and hope to those who are troubled and find themselves facing dark and difficult situations.

He also stressed that the festival of lights was all about sacrifice and love and was also an opportunity for members of the organization to reflect on the journey that they have been on together as a policing family.
