It could take more time for Energy Fiji Limited to restore power in Samabula and Princes Road including the Kundan Singh Supermarket area as they need to fix an underground fault.

The EFL says the underground fault is near Kundan Singh Supermarket and teams will be working on it this afternoon.

Areas affected include Samabula, FNU, Votua Street, LDS temple, P&T transmitter, Vodafone, Kundan Singh and Bureta Street.

When asked, the EFL says they cannot give a timeframe for power restoration but works are expected to continue this afternoon into the evening.

People in these areas do not have power from around 7am today.

Residents from these areas have told us that they also faced similar situation yesterday morning and in the evening.

EFL says they have managed to restore supply in Toorak and Waimanu Road.

The EFL had earlier said the High Street Feeder that supplies power to areas in Samabula, Princes Road and Toorak had tripped.
