Minister for Public Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau

Minister for Public Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau has responded to concerns raised by residents in Savusavu about the town not having a sewerage system, with some pointing to a 20-year delay.

Ro Filipe says the issue is part of the government’s broader wastewater development plans.

While speaking to fijivillage News, the Minister confirms the project is included in the Water Authority of Fiji’s strategic wastewater planning.

While he could not confirm specific timelines, he says the project is currently being addressed through ongoing planning and budgeting processes.

The concern was strongly raised by Savusavu residents during the Fijian Media Association’s Meet the Public and the Press session held in Savusavu.
