Involving youths in agriculture can lead to less crime and drug use, fostering self-sufficiency and productivity.

Fung Farms Fiji founder, Veresa Fung highlighted this while speaking to fijivillage News saying doing organic agriculture contributes to how an individual can build themselves more reliably and also have an impact on a healthy community.

Fung says farming is one of the most natural and sustainable ways of making money.

He started his organic agriculture business in 2019 with the help of some non-government organisations where he attended training to gain more knowledge and skills on how to venture into this business.

He says that there is a less number of people getting involved in the organic sector in Fiji.

Fung further says organic agriculture contributes to the saving of the environment.

He adds this year he plans to involve more youths in the organic agricultural sector and to get more farmers to be interested in organic agriculture.

His advice to youths is that instead of them roaming around in town by involving themselves in drugs and crime it will be best for them to do agriculture.
