Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka

Investigation results have not been received on who is involved in tipping police officers regarding illegal shipment.

Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka highlighted this during the 2025 International Customs Day celebrations at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.

Rabuka says he does not know if criminals or officials were being investigated, because they haven't received the report.

He says the nation relies on custom officers and therefore they have to be attentive.

The Prime Minister further says one sleeping guard can cause the surrender of a whole army, and stressed that the role of customs in national security cannot be overstated.

He adds that through their meticulous inspections and monitoring, our nation is protected from other harmful entities.
