Minister for Employment Agni Deo Singh says investigations into FHL Tower where a construction worker was electrocuted are ongoing while work continues on the tower after the lifting of the stop work order.

Singh says once completed, the investigation file will be submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

He says this will happen sooner rather than later.

FHL had last month confirmed that the site is now compliant with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and applicable codes of practice and all recommended measures have been integrated into current work practices to ensure a safe and working environment.

They said in addition, Energy Fiji Limited had granted clearance for the site's electrical installations, confirming compliance with applicable utility interface protocols and load distribution requirements while temporary power has been successfully restored, allowing work to proceed.

FHL added with materials secured and statutory approvals in place, efforts are now focused on completion, while upholding all statutory and safety requirements.
