Investigation continues into Pastor Naidu’s derogatory comments

Investigation continues into Pastor Naidu’s derogatory comments

The investigation is ongoing regarding the derogatory remarks made by Pastor Kartik Naidu, who is also a serving Police Officer, about Hindu and Muslim festivals.

The investigation began after Fiji’s largest Hindu organisation, the Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji, formally lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department.

fijivillage News has also asked whether there is any timeframe for when the investigation is expected to conclude and what the next steps will be.

In a video circulating on social media, Pastor Naidu is seen preaching that participation in Hindu and Muslim festivals such as Diwali, Ram Navami, Navratri and Eid are demonic activities.

The Sabha reaffirmed its belief that places of worship should uplift humanity, and that no faith should ever be used as a platform to degrade another.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Muslim League states that the Holy Qur’an teaches respect for all religions, as respect leads to peace, while insults only result in disharmony.
