The Permanent Secretary for Education, Anjeela Jokhan says according to the initial reports the Ministry has received, 17 schools in the Northern Division and Yasawa have suffered damages due to Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Jokhan says their team with the Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar are in the North to conduct the damage assessment caused by TC Yasa.
She says after the assessment, they will be able to reveal exactly how many schools were destroyed or sustained damages.
