India secured their place in the Women’s Cricket World Cup semi finals with a commanding 53-run victory over New Zealand in Mumbai this morning.
India joined Australia, South Africa and England in the semi finals, marking a strong comeback and keeping their World Cup dreams alive.
This was must-win territory for both teams, but the bulk of the pressure was on India.
They were searching for their maiden Women's World Cup crown and headed into this tournament, on home soil, as title favourites alongside Australia and England.
