Following serious concerns raised by residents of Tacirua East on the increase in break ins and burglary, police have set up a tent in the area for increased presence.

A resident says three homes were broken into last week on the same day, during the day.

He says this was not happening before but crime rate in the area has increased in the recent few weeks.

He also says he is worried about his vehicle and the safety of his family.

Divisional Police Commander South SSP Wate Vocevoce says officers have been patrolling the area from last week.

He says they are also conducting house to house and business visitations.
