Immigration Dept launches Online Permit Processing System to improve processing of work permits

The Department of Immigration has launched its Online Permit Processing System which will be operational from the 2nd of September 2024.

The department says this is to improve the efficiency and convenience of processing work permits and investor permits and appeals.

They say they will stop accepting applications for work permits, investor permits and appeals from this Friday to transition into the new system.

They say all paper applications currently being processed will be proceeded within the next month.

The Immigration Department says if an applicant’s current application expires between the 23rd of August to the 2nd of September and if a renewal application is not lodged, the applicant will not be penalised.

They add this will stream down work flow will reduce the time required for processing the work permit applications and to monitor the status of applications at every stage.
