Former Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Ifereimi Vasu and former ATH CEO and chartered accountant Tomasi Vakatora are part of SODELPA’s 12 provisional candidates announced today while Mosese Bulitavu will not contest under the party banner.

Other provisional candidates announced are MPs Aseri Radrodro and Simione Rasova, former head of school Ana Kulaniloga, Nabuto Trust/Hydro Scheme Chairman Pauliasi Matawalu, former police officer Hazarat Ali, real estate developer Bulivou Ratu, former Ministry of Youth staff Osea Vutikalulu, Shweta Singh who is a youth advocate and has a background in human resource, agriculture officer Eliki Batirokomoro and journalist Sireli Korovulavula.

This is in addition to the 28 provisional candidates announced in April.

SODELPA Leader, Viliame Gavoka says the party will have their AGM on the 25th of June and they should have majority of their provisional candidates announced by then.

He says their policies are being released on their social media progressively which will be consolidated so their manifesto will be ready by the time they have their AGM.

The party leader further says Simione Rasova, Aseri Radrodro, Tanya Waqanika, Mikaele Leawere, Anare Jale and he are the only serving Members of Parliament who will be contesting the general elections for the party.

Gavoka says he does not know about Bulitavu’s plans.

He further says Rasova’s FICAC trial where he is charged with a count each of Giving False Information to Public Servant and Obtaining Financial Advantage is in September but there will be reserves on stand-by in the event when the case does not go as they expect.

Gavoka says the MPs who have cases before court made the wrong call but the parliamentarians need an integrity commissioner and when the MPs are not sure about anything they can go to these people.

Other SODELPA MPs charged are Ratu Suliano Matanitobua whose trial is underway, Salote Radrodro, Peceli Vosanibola and Adi Litia Qionibaravi.
