It will be icing on the cake for MGM High School if the school’s U17 rugby league team win against the Ba Provincial Dragons in the final of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League national finals this Saturday.

School Principal, Sanjay Raman highlighted this as his troops prepare for the national final this week.

Raman says the boys are focused and they will not be disheartened by whatever the result is in the final.

He says the achievement made by their team after winning the Southern and Eastern Zone competitions in rugby league is now added in their books as well as the achievements of their junior and senior grades in the Coca-Cola Games this year.

MGM finished in third place in the overall girls medal tally of the Coke Games with 7 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze.

He adds that they are also focusing on the Deans competition this year and will try to build up their team as far as they can go.

8 teams have booked their spot in the finals this weekend where the RKS Eels will face the Ba Pro Dragons in the Under 15 final at 9am while the MGM Dragons go up against the Ba Pro Dragons in the U17 grade finals at 11.25am.

Newcomers to this year's finals, the Naitasiri Warriors will face the RKS Eels in the U19 finals at 1.30pm.

In the women's finals, the Lomaivuna Raiders will face the Namosi Titans at 10.15am.

The Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League finals will be held at Ratu Cakobau Park this Saturday.
