Suva has become the last team to qualify for the semi-finals of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2025, after beating defending champions Labasa 3-1 in their final pool match at the 4R Stadium in Govind Park, Ba.

Labasa, along with Rewa and Ba, had already secured their places in the semi-finals.

The upcoming clash between Ba and Rewa will determine the semi-final match-ups scheduled for Saturday.

Labasa took an early lead in the 35th minute of the match when an own goal by Suva’s Remueru Tekiata gave the Babasiga Lions a 1-0 advantage.

However, Suva quickly bounced back with an equaliser from Gagame Feni just three minutes later, before Dave Radrigai struck to make it 2-1 in the 40th minute, giving the capital side an advantage heading into half-time.

Suva kept up the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with their third goal in the 78th minute by Faizal Ali.

Suva coach Babs Khan says they came in with a lot of injuries in the team, and they will now go back and review the condition of the players to ensure they are prepared for the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the match between Navua and Nadroga is currently underway, Lautoka will face Nadi at 6pm and Ba will take on Rewa at 8pm.
