FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama

FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama says in the Fiji of today, any Fijian from any faith, ethnicity, gender, province, physical ability, age, rich or poor, can rise in this country as far as their talents and ambition can carry them.

Bainimarama says he will continue to guard this with his life.

He spoke in a recorded video message uploaded on the FijiFirst facebook page, where he says he was sent a fake article that made horrible and completely outrageous false allegations of religious strife in Fiji.

Bainimarama says he condemns any attempt to poison our society with lies including from those on foreign soil who do not live among our people.

He says the sad divisions along religious lines in some of the countries do not have anything to do with us.

The FijiFirst Leader says the Fiji he leads does not tolerate antagonism against any faith.

He says Christians, Hindus and Muslims are all accepted and protected in Fiji – that is the character of our country and that is the security provided by the Constitution.

Bainimarama says our people live in harmony, we live in safety, we work together, we worship in peace, we celebrate our religious festivals openly and include our fellow Fijians, and we build our country side by side.

He says the fake article is being shared by those in Fiji who have an agenda against the government, and he also says it is sad that no other politicians have condemned it.
