Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka has strongly reacted to sacked FICAC Commissioner, Barbara Malimali’s lawyer, Tanya Waqanika after she said that she does not believe the Office of the Attorney General was giving legal advice to Rabuka when Malimali was sacked after the Commission of Inquiry report.

When questioned by fijivillage News, Rabuka stressed he is taking advice from Solicitor General, Ropate Green.

Rabuka denies he is getting legal advice from others in the People’s Alliance regarding the COI actions, saying that is for a different case.

Speaking after the High Court ruling where the application for leave for a judicial review into the decision to sack Malimali was granted, Waqanika said she is not certain on who gave the legal advice to both the President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Prime Minister Rabuka.

Rabuka stresses that is Waqanika’s belief.

Waqanika had also said that she already has indications that more cases will be filed against issues in the Commission of Inquiry report into the appointment of Malimali as FICAC Commissioner.
